Morgante-Wilson Architects is currently working on obtaining a LEED Gold certification for a single family home that is currently under construction in Glenview.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the national benchmark for sustainable green building practices. This project incorporates several green building technologies, including spray foam insulation, a geothermal system, a solar hot water system, and rainwater harvesting tanks, which will supply a drip irrigation system for all landscape.
In addition, all materials have been carefully selected to be durable, healthy, and environmentally friendly. All framing cabinetry is (FSC) Forest Stewardship Council certified wood with no added formaldehyde. The FSC is a non-profit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the world’s forests. The floors are reclaimed hardwood floors and all the paints and finishes are Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds).
